At AW Health Care, providing care has always meant more than simply meeting medical needs. It means helping seniors feel connected, valued, respected, and truly cared for every single day.
A recent heartfelt review from the daughter of one of our adult day care participants beautifully reflects what makes AW Health Care so special. Her mother, Galina K., shared how joining our Adult Day Care Program transformed not only her daily routine, but her entire outlook on life.
Before attending the program, Galina described feeling isolated, lonely, and struggling with depression. Like many seniors, especially older adults living far from extended family or navigating life in a new country, the days had become quiet and disconnected.
But everything changed when she found AW Health Care. “Since joining this center, my whole life and outlook have changed. I now look forward to every day, I smile more, and I truly feel alive again.”
These words perfectly reflect the heart of AW Health Care’s mission: helping individuals age well with dignity, independence, safety, and joy.
Creating a Place Where Seniors Feel Like Family
At AW Health Care, we believe meaningful care begins with meaningful relationships. Our Adult Day Care Program was designed to create a warm, welcoming environment where seniors can socialize, stay active, receive support services, and experience a true sense of belonging.
For Galina, it was the kindness of the staff that made the greatest impact.
She shared special gratitude for team members Karina and Kama, whose compassion and attentiveness helped every participant feel comfortable and loved. “They treat seniors like family — helping them, covering them with blankets when they are tired, making sure everyone feels comfortable, cared for, and loved.”
This level of personal attention is what sets AW Health Care apart. Every interaction matters, from helping someone safely onto transportation to simply offering a warm smile and a listening ear.
Compassion in Every Detail
Galina’s review also highlights something incredibly important in senior care: understanding the whole person.
At AW Health Care, our team recognizes that emotional wellbeing, cultural familiarity, nutrition, physical comfort, and social connection all play a vital role in quality of life.
She expressed heartfelt appreciation for the kitchen staff and Cook Natalia, explaining how meaningful it was to receive homemade meals that reflected cultural traditions and familiar flavors. “For Russian-speaking seniors, they often prepare traditional Russian dishes that remind them of home. For many elderly immigrants, this kind of thoughtful care is incredibly important and something very difficult to find in America.”
This culturally sensitive approach is deeply aligned with AW Health Care’s founding mission to serve diverse communities with care delivered in a language and style families understand and trust.
Going Above and Beyond Every Day
The review also recognized the many dedicated professionals who help support participants physically, emotionally, and socially each day.
From Driver Alexander’s patience and attentiveness, to Zhanna’s supportive social work services, to the therapeutic care provided by massage therapists Ben and Diana, every team member plays an important role in helping seniors maintain comfort, mobility, confidence, and independence.
Galina shared that after receiving massage therapy services, she experienced significant improvements in her leg pain, back pain, and overall physical condition.
Most importantly, she described an atmosphere built on patience, dignity, and humanity. “Even with seniors who are very sick or confused, they never raise their voices. They stay calm, patient, loving, and respectful at all times.”
That kind of environment cannot be manufactured. It comes from people who truly care.
A Life-Changing Experience
The “AW” in AW Health Care stands for Aging Well, and stories like Galina’s remind us exactly why that mission matters.
Adult day care programs do far more than provide supervision during the day. They help reduce isolation, encourage social engagement, improve emotional well-being, and allow seniors to remain active within their communities.
For many families, these programs become life-changing.
“This place makes elderly people feel needed, valued, loved, and welcomed. That means more than words can describe.”
At AW Health Care, we are honored to serve families throughout Missouri and Illinois with compassionate, person-centered care that supports both seniors and their loved ones.
We are incredibly grateful to Galina and her family for sharing such a touching experience and for allowing us to continue doing what we love most: helping people age with dignity, purpose, and joy.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to AW Health Care and the wonderful adult day care program they provide for seniors.
Before coming here, I felt lonely, isolated, and struggling with depression. I stayed home alone and barely communicated with anyone other than family members. Since joining this center, my whole life and outlook have changed. I now look forward to every day, I smile more, and I truly feel alive again.
What makes this place so special is the incredible love, kindness, and patience of the staff. Everyone treats elderly people with genuine care and respect. I have never seen anything like this anywhere else.
Special thanks to Karina and Kama for the warmth and compassion they show every single day. They treat seniors like family — helping them, covering them with blankets when they are tired, making sure everyone feels comfortable, cared for, and loved.
Driver Alexander is always kind and attentive, helping every senior safely get on and off the bus with patience and respect.
Social worker Zhanna is wonderful and caring, always supportive and positive.
Cook Natalia and the kitchen staff deserve special recognition. The food is always delicious, homemade, and prepared with real care. Many seniors truly enjoy the meals and sometimes even take food home because it is so good. What is especially meaningful is that the staff considers cultural preferences and dietary needs. For Russian-speaking seniors, they often prepare traditional Russian dishes that remind them of home. For many elderly immigrants, this kind of thoughtful care is incredibly important and something very difficult to find in America.
I also want to especially thank massage therapists Ben and Diana. They are not only kind people but truly highly professional specialists. Their work is done with great care and attention, not just as a quick routine massage. After working with them, I experienced major improvement in my leg pain, back pain, and overall physical condition. Their professionalism and dedication made a real difference in my health and quality of life.
I also want to thank all nurses, aides, and the entire staff. Even with seniors who are very sick or confused, they never raise their voices. They stay calm, patient, loving, and respectful at all times. The atmosphere here is filled with kindness, compassion, and humanity.
This place makes elderly people feel needed, valued, loved, and welcomed. That means more than words can describe.
I would absolutely recommend AW Health Care to other families with elderly parents and loved ones. Places like this truly change lives.” — Shared on behalf of Galina K.
